Horses race first Triple Crown’s Kentucky Derby Trail.

Inherent in you by God’s hand - Patience in proud stand.
Eleven Champions won all three -Triple Crown’s Victory.
Sir Barton was their first Winner’s Dream;
War Admiral, Gallant Fox, Assault, more inbetween.
Secretariat, Seattle Slew,
Citation, Affirmed - to name a few.

Leaves one’s head in a tailspin; Review what Horses did win.
Awestruck by Smarty Jones in 2004 - first two jewels his score.
Birdstone took Belmont by storm;
“Overpowers Smarty Jones” was his norm.

Then Heaven’s Gate opened for Saint Liam and Pirate’s Bounty by Fate.
“Streets On Fire” Liam took a bad fall and “Best Sire” had given his all.
Horse of the Year 2005 and California’s Top 2-year-old winner are no more.
Only 6-years-young was Liam’s life; But Bounty’s was 11 years plus 1 score.

Barbaro’s fame gave public’s choice doctor a new name.
Equine surgeon saving “Magnificent Bobby’s” life would turn to Alcor,
A polar bear with shattered paw, leading "our great pioneer" as before.
Difficult surgery it was; but at least we tried and did our best.
God’s Hand intervened sending Alcor to Heaven for rest.

Once again, Barbaro’s fans prayed for all to be healed if they stayed.
Labor Day came upon us, whispering Barbaro heal without any fuss.
Then came the news clear out of the blue;
Naturalist Steve Irwin just died too!
His Australian zoo and fans! simply could not believe!
Loyal Barbaroians began prayers for God’s Angels to receive.

Close friend’s quote, “He died doing what he loved best,” Yahoo wrote.
Seeing Barbaro’s wisdom here, if Steve had owned horses, it is clear.
Circle of Life is hard to take; “Crikey, it’s nature’s way!” He’d say.
From World’s deadliest creatures to devilishly clever stallions by day,
He’d have made quite a horseman - if he had a different course;
Having a Champion like “Heroic” Barbaro as his chosen horse.
