Gloria's Will TO Win inspired me to try my brain again at giving a special message to Bluegrass Cat who now has a broken leg like me. Melissa was great about helping me type this one for Kentucky's boy.

*Bobby's Message TO Bluegrass Cat*

I was so proud of you and your race in the Haskell,

Even though at the Derby thought you were a rascal.

You really did try to come on there at the home stretch,

But the way I was running, impossible to catch.

Your race against Bernie was a great sight to behold,

Although we all sadly realize that it took its toll.

I really felt that you were coming into your own,

Now we both reluctantly live with seeds fate we have sown.

Now I guess we'll hopefully compete at the stud farm,

I do not have any doubts that I'll have the most charm.

All kidding aside, I know you did run a great race,

Maybe together, we'd have put Bernie in his place.

Take care of yourself my friend and enjoy the ladies,

Cause when I'm able to join you, I'll drive them crazy.

Since Bluegrass Cat ran the race of his life like to dedicate Gloria's poem to BGC for giving his all when he ended up fracturing his leg in Saturday's Travers Race. Now he and Barbaro will be healing buddies. There is a prayer vigil tomorrow night at 7pm EST AUG 30. 2006 for LOST IN THE FOG but think we should also include BLUEGRASS CAT & BARBARO.

We have not won a special race,

We have not been the ones to chase,

We have not won large purses, though

We still have hearts that overflow.

We love to run and we compete,

We give our best - even in defeat,

We watch as others may go past,

We still believe that we are fast!

We do what we are asked to do,

We hope that it is pleasing too,

We like to race, but never reach

      The fame and recognition peak.

Our names don’t even ring a bell,

But as for effort, who can tell?

We give it all we’ve got and more,

      Potential sometimes still in store.

It’s in our heart and in our blood,

Yet some think we aren’t “good enough”,

But we know that our hearts are true,

And top prize is for just a few.

We keep on trying, and we will,

With every race and stride until

It’s time for us to step away,

And not race on another day.

And whether by some fate or chance,

We falter, stumble in our dance,

We pray that you will care enough

To help us through when times are rough.

We hope and trust that when we end

Our “useful” days, and need a friend,

That memories of our noble tries,

Will pave our path to new, full lives.

      Dear Barbaro "Bobby",
Thanks for being just you. I see you have quite a sense of humor and are very good natured making the best of things when life is not fair. You take a licking and Bluegrass Cat too and you both keep on ticking with wild horsalities (like Personalities) too!
If one's a cool cat the other got "THAT." Meaning, you're "THE HORSE" of course, like ALEX is "THE MAN"! If, anyone can pull through YOU BOTH CAN!!! GO BGC - GO ALEX - AND GO BARBARO GO!!!
