Replying to Lorraine's Amazing Barbaro and My Message TO MIKE REA just wanted to try my brain at another poem with the help of Melissa Harden who was so kind to lend her typing fingers...This is something special for the Barbaromaniacs who donated several some Almost $4,000.00 to THE BARBARO FUND to help Dr. Dean and others get much needed medical equipment to help my friends at NBC...Thank you guys...

BARBARO's Message to the BARBAROMANIACS

By Bobby J. (AKA Barbaro)

I know you are maniacs, cause many a car crashed,

When the news came that I was outside enjoying the grass.

From the staff: "Quit dressing as carrots, trying to see me."

It is annoying to them though it fills me with glee.

I really love all of you support and all that you do,

Know I wouldn't have made it without it, that much is true.

Tell Mike Rea to follow advice and do as I do,

And remember that when riding, to use that crazy glue.*

Remember what I've been through will have been to no avail,

Unless you all follow through and join my campaign email.*

Do not ever stop from keeping those carrots a coming -

Whenever I get one, I just begin to start humming.*

The race when Barbaro got hurt was the first horse my 14 year old daughter had really sat and watched. You see she had just started working for a Thoroughbred owner in Ohio, training his young for their ground manners. He told that he wanted her to watch the race and help him decide who to breed one of his mares with, you can guess that she wanted it to be Barbaro, from the first minute that she saw him in the paddock. She was devastated when he got injured and is even worse since he had to euthanized. She has pictures of him every where in her room, on her school folders, and on the computer. She is such a big supporter of his and of horses everywhere! We are aginst horse slaughter and have been since buying our first horse. We have saved 10 horses from slaughter in past 6 years. It is not a lot of horses, but we do what we can for the horses we all love!
