| I prayed to the Lord above, please Lord, I hope you are his biggest fan.
Let him live, he’s done nothing wrong, he is just a child,
he will grace this world, not just today, but for a long while.
So many heartaches I have seen at the track,
I needed Barbaro to live, I needed to restore the faith that I lacked.
I held vigil at the University of Penn website, and on Yahoo news,
please let him make it through the surgery Lord, you have nothing to lose.

| I dedicate my poem 'Million Horse March' to all horses and the people who love them. Feel free to use my poem as you wish; however I ask that any money made from the use of 'Million Horse March' be donated for horse rescue, finding homes for horses, and for equine cancer research. |

| Close friend’s quote, “He died doing what he loved best,” Yahoo wrote.
Seeing Barbaro’s wisdom here, if Steve had owned horses, it is clear.
Circle of Life is hard to take; “Crikey, it’s nature’s way!” He’d say.
From World’s deadliest creatures to devilishly clever stallions by day,
He’d have made quite a horseman - if he had a different course;
Having a Champion like “Heroic” Barbaro as his chosen horse. |

| Tears flowing and cries, "Spare this champion's life!"
Cries heard by Matz, Prado, Jacksons- husband and wife
Rushed to New Bolton to Dr. Dean's healing hands
Whispered prayers heard across all near and distant lands

| You are the wings beneath our wings,
But, no longer will you fly.
You've captured the hearts of all with a soul,
And we are content with gazing in your eyes.

| I hear the cottonwoods
whisperin' above
Barbaro, Barbaro
horse that we love
the breeze from the paddock
keeps murmuring low
Barbaro, Barbaro

| “It’s what you can’t see that matters,”
Or so said one trainer of old,
What’s deep down inside can’t be shattered,
All champions are inwardly gold.
